CP Flight: 3D product animation for a rudder pedal unit

CP Flight makes hardware for flight simulators. For its rudder pedal unit we made a seventy-five-second trailer that combines a night take-off with a 3D animation of the product.

Starting from the flight

Before showing the product, the trailer puts the viewer in the cockpit: a plane takes off at night over a lit-up city while the pilot's lines appear on screen. Then comes the claim, The next level of real. People who use a simulator are after that feeling, so the video starts there.

The product taken apart in 3D

The second part is 3D animation. The pedal unit opens up, comes apart and goes back together, and each feature gets its own scene: rudder control, brake pressure, the adjustment crank and active control loading. Technical captions appear next to the detail they describe.

Why 3D for a technical product

Live footage shows the outside of an object. 3D lets you go inside the mechanism, cut through it and light each part as needed. For a product people choose for its precision, showing the inside helps.

The trailer ends on the CP Flight logo and the line Enter the next level. If you have a product with a mechanism worth showing, see our 3D animation page.
